We've been expecting you...

Hello and welcome back to the Key Stage Two Blog!

...and relax! What a week! I don't think I actually stopped this week and I think there are several members of staff who would empathise with this! There have been many highlights this week and a frustrating low light, all of which you will find out more about when you read on.

So, here we go...

Poster Fairies

Although it was a fairly 'last minute' decision to hold a cake sale for Children in Need this Friday, the fantastic children in our school weren't fazed and were incredibly supportive. A HUGE thank you to the young ladies in the picture who spent their lunchtime putting up posters around the school. What a team - thank you!

PS - thank you for wearing the wings!

Inaugural Pupil Voice Meeting

This Thursday saw the first Pupil Voice Meeting of the Academic Year run by the brilliant Mr Roberts with Mrs Cook and Miss Wood in attendance. I felt very honoured to be there and it was great to see everyone joining in and bringing their thoughts and opinions to the table (so to speak).

Hopefully, I'll be invited back to the next one in a few weeks time.

Special Visitors

As you may well have been aware, we had very special visitors into our school this week.
The children were AMAZING! We are always proud of the children in our school at the best of times but we were positively bursting with pride with the way they behaved throughout the inspection.

On Friday, Miss Dearden held an assembly with each year group to thank them in person.

What a team!

Children in Need

The brief was that we could wear our Onsies or Pyjamas in exchange for £1 in order to raise money for Children in Need. The children looked incredible and really entered into the spirit of it as did members of staff.

Every Friday morning, before school, the Extended Senior Leadership meet to go through the diary for the next week. I would like to assure you that we don't normally dress like this. Honest.

We had a fantastic day! The Non Uniform Day alone raised (at the time of writing) £510 which is terrific!

A young lady in Year Five carried out a Sponsored Silence throughout the day. Her Mum reported that she was silent until 8.05am the following morning which was something of a rare treat for the family!

Our Cake Sale was a HUGE hit. A massive Thank You to all of the lovely people who donated lovely cake to our incredible sale. As we had so many cakes, we were able to hold another cake sale at lunchtime.

Thank you to everyone who brought cakes and were so patient when queuing! At one point, the queue extended to the ICT Suite!

£234 was raised - superb!

The school shop has been selling Pudsey merchandise since half term and have raised a minimum of £300 which is simply breath-taking.

A big 'Thank You' to Mrs Schnorr who not only baked hundreds of Pudsey cakes but helped us set up in the morning and carried on after we all abandoned her to teach!

In total, so far, our school has raised £1044.
A-MAZ-ING!

Golden Time

Oh dear. Just when I thought we were getting somewhere, we seemed to have had double the number of children miss their Golden Time this week!
In total, nearly 40 children missed out. Gulp!

Please remember that there are many opportunities to complete Homework in school but, at the end of the day, it is down to you to attend Study Group/The Hub/Chill Out isn't it?

Let's work really hard this week to make sure that Golden Time is earned and enjoyed by EVERYONE!

Worth a Mention Children

Massive congratulations to every single child whose name is up on these rather prestigious boards.

Let's start with Year Six this week:

Now for the fabulous Year Five children:

Such a terrific combination of academic and pastoral reasons which is a joy to read. I was also very impressed with this week's drawing from Mrs Daniels!

Well, that's it for another week. I am so pleased that we all reached the end of such a momentous week relatively unscathed! Thank you again Key Stage Two for making me so incredibly proud of every single one of you. However, that doesn't just go for the children, your teachers are THE BEST and you are so lucky to have them as I am so lucky to work with them.

Have a good weekend everyone and I shall look forward to seeing you back here next week.

Mrs Ray

(who picked her eleven year daughter up from school proudly dressed in her cow onesie. To say she was pleased to see me would be a complete and utter lie! I couldn't park near to the school so I had a bit of a walk to get there - I can't begin to tell you the number of funny looks I got!)
