Rain, rain go away!

Hello and welcome back to the Key Stage Two Blog!

With another hectic week behind me, I was rather excited about writing the week's Blog. Now, don't get me wrong, I look forward to writing it every week but this week has been, despite the torrential weather resulting in numerous 'wet plays', a cracking learning week. You'll see why as the Blog progresses.

So, without further ado, this is what the wonderful children (all 306 of them!) of Key Stage Two have been up to this week.

Spooky Stuff

In Year Six, we are in the process of writing spooky stories. In 6MP we were watching a cracking animation called 'Dracula's Whitby' and analysing it so that we can write our version of it. This particular class are writing for 5MW so I hope we don't frighten our junior members of the school too much!

As it was a horrible, rainy day it was quite dark in the classroom. When we turned the lights back on the whole 'ambiance' that we had created, disappeared so I zoomed off to the Science Lab to get the torches.

It was such an incredible atmosphere so I dragged poor Mrs Pluck out of her office so she could see it for herself. Below is a picture of her and Thea who was explaining what her group doing. You can just about make them out...!

Spooktacular!

Welcome Back!

It was with joy in our hearts that we welcomed our fabulous Harvey back to school.
For those of you who know Harvey, you will know that this super young man has been through quite an ordeal over the past few weeks so it was an absolute joy to welcome him back into the Year Six fold.

A huge 'thank you' to his wonderful welcoming committee who was more excited that Harvey was!

Can I interest you in a Biscuit Pocket Mug?

In our Year Five English Lessons, we have been looking at persuasive writing with a particular focus on adverts. The children have been creating their own adverts on items you would have found (back in the day) in the Innovations catalogue!

Here, the children are 'purple penning' each other's work - they made some fabulous contributions.

Well done 5MW.

6NR Erupt!

Oh. My. Goodness!

The volcanoes have now moved onto the 'erupting' stage and 6NR had a HUGE amount of fun in the playground on Friday, setting them off. Literally!

I was so impressed! No wonder the whole class are 'Worth a Mention Children' this week.

Worth a Mention Children

Huge congratulations to ALL of the children who are on this week's Worth a Mention Boards.

Here are the selected children in Year Six:

...and now for Year Five.

As I was taking the picture for Year Five, I was rudely photo-bombed by that cheeky Mrs Daniel!

I took the opportunity to 'discuss' her latest work of 'art' with her. To say that she is pleased with this latest offering is something of an understatement! Well done Mrs Daniel but I would advice you not to give up the day job!

Golden Time

This is Roy and Beryl. They are my family's rabbits (or as my husband calls them, 'the kids') and they were very sad to hear that so many children in Key Stage Two lost their Golden Time this week! Look at their little sad faces!
I'm running out of new advice for those children who miss their Golden Time!
Come on chaps - let's make my bunnies happy ones!

Christmas really is coming!

Bethany in 5MW has been a busy elf and produced the most delicious biscuits at home this week. Miss Woodley and I were very lucky to receive one of these rather scrummy biscuits.
Jealous? You should be!
