Are you as excited as we are?

Hello and welcome back to the first Key Stage Two Blog of the new academic year!

It feels like I wrote the last Blog just a few days ago, not a few weeks. I am very conscious that there was no Blog right at the end of term and this was for a variety of reasons that I won't bore you with. Needless to say, I am on the search for a new camera...

The start of the new term is going to be a different this year and I think it's a terrific way to begin. We are so looking forward to seeing you after the Summer Holidays and can't wait to hear about the adventures you had regardless if you have been in sunny Dorset or in more exotic locations around the globe.

If you are starting with us in Year Five on Wednesday then I can imagine that you are a bundle of nerves and excitement. I can't take away how you are feeling but I know that you will feel fine once you have got into your Homebase classroom and spent some time with your Tutor and classmates. As you will have the school to yourselves, you have the unique opportunity of experiencing 'taster lessons' of the all the subjects that you will be taught over the year. This will continue into Thursday when we will welcome Year Eight back into the fold. There is an opportunity for you to meet with your Buddies again at lunchtime where you will eat your lunch together and get to know each other a bit more.

It sounds good doesn't it?

If you are coming back into Year Six then we won't see you until Friday but it's going to be a busy one! You are going to spend the morning with your Homebase Tutor - the former 5CW will meet their new Tutor and will be known as 6YK. It's all rather exciting isn't it? You will Homebase during the first two lessons and during that time, you will be told your new timetable and new Teaching Group so Lessons 3, and 4 will give you the opportunity to get to know the other children that you will be taught with.

The Key Stage Two Blog will be up and running on a regular basis from next week.

The Year Five Team

If you are in 5CE, you will notice that Mrs Emery is missing from the picture. This is because she has been promoted to a new position within the school which is fantastic. In her place, Mrs Bendall and Mrs Lawson will be your Tutors (two for the price of one - we spoil you! You will be known as 5BL but please don't worry if you have 5CE on your labels - we will know where to find you! They are totally lovely ladies and are new to the school as well.

The Year Six Team

See you soon!

Mrs Ray

(who can't thank the children who very kindly gave her presents at the end of term enough. Needless to say the 'consumables' have been, well, consumed. Weightwatchers beckons...!)
