You kids!

Hello and welcome back to the Key Stage Two Blog!

Another full week in a bag and everyone seems to be settling in nicely which is always a bonus. Timetables are being remembered, teaching rooms arrived at and teachers having fun with all the their groups.

This week saw the first 'official' Golden Time and I have met with my Year Five Roving Reporters to discuss what they are going to do to contribute to this very Blog - more of that later.

Enough of me, let's look at what's going on in Key Stage Two...

Year Five Drop In Sessions

Please remember that the Year Five Pastoral Team are available from 3.30pm to 3.45pm every Monday. We will be hanging out in the Year Five Corridor where we will be waiting for anyone who would like to pop in to have a quick, informal chat with your child's Homebase Tutor. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please go to Reception and they will guide you from there.

Year Six Meet and Greet

This Wednesday (25th September) we will be welcoming our Year Six Parents to our 'Meet and Greet' Evening at 6pm in the Hall. I will talking to you about what to expect in Year Six and for you to have the opportunity to 'meet' the Homebase Tutors.

Thank you for returning your slips, I shall look forward to seeing those you can come make it.

Worth a Mention Children

HUGE congratulations to the wonderful Key Stage Two Homebase Tutors who put their WAMs on the boards without ANY nagging, begging or threats! It was brilliant to see - thank you.

Seriously though, the congratulations must actually go to the amazing children who have found their names on the boards this week. I had a really good read of the reasons why their names appear and it was a joy to read.

Let's start with Year Six this week...

Fantastic!

Now the turn of our Year Five children...

Keep working hard Key Stage Two - you can see for yourselves that it pays off!

Golden Time

Well done to all the children who earned their Golden Time this week. We all totally appreciate that there is going to take some getting used to and only five children in Year Five didn't quite get there. We had a good chat so hopefully I won't be seeing them next week. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for a few of our Year Six children - eleven of them missed it. With the reduction in the number of reads required I really did think that we wouldn't have many children missing it so let's hope that it was a blip?

What to know what the children got up to in Golden Time? Then tune in next week where will have a full report from the children below!

Roving Reporters

Meet Sophie and Reece! They are the Year Five Roving Reporters for the Blog. I am still looking for Year Six versions so if you are interested, come and see me!
We meet on Tuesday lunchtimes in Room 17.

Come join the fun!

Year Five Parent Consultation Evening

On Wednesday 23rd October from 4pm - 7pm, we will be hosting a Parent Consultation Evening for the parents of our Year Five children. The purpose of this evening is to discuss how your children are settling in and an opportunity to discuss any pastoral concerns you may have. This won't be the platform to discuss your child's academic progress as there will be an opportunity later on in the term to meet your child's Maths and English teachers.

Letters, along with appointment slips, will come out nearer the time.

Ready and raring to go!

Please note that from this Monday, Year Five will be allowed to enter the building at 8.50am. This should avoid any potential 'scrums' with Year Six when coming into school. A member of Duty Staff will let then children know when they can go in from the playground.

Well, that's it for this week. I hope you all had a lovely weekend enjoying Saturday and enduring Soggy (ish) Sunday.

Have a good week and I will look forward to seeing you back here next week.

Mrs Ray

(who tried hard to get her running mojo back with Parkrun on Saturday and a not as soggy as she thought it was going to be Black Hill 10km on the Sunday!)

Me and Mr Allwood (Evie in 6AD's Dad)

The best bit!
