Collectively Creative

Hello and welcome back to the Dorchester Middle School Blog!

I have one word that encapsulates the week - 'busy'! Our school is a vibrant and exciting place to be at the best of times but I think we were on track for surpassing that this week!

Let's have a look at the goings on at DMS this week.

Black History Month

Last week, I shared with you pictures of Mr Greetham and the display he was working on. I then spied this magnificent display right outside Ms Pluck's office.

I absolutely love it!

School at Work Mornings

It was lovely to see parents of Year Four children at our annual School at Work mornings. If you were unable to attend, do not fear, we will be providing Year Four parents with another opportunity to visit the school in the not too distant future.

Football-tastic!

It was with great pride that I was able to hand out these football stripes to the children in 5MW who played in the fantastic football match against St Osmunds.

Mr Robert also congratulated the players in our Year Five assembly.

Well done Team DMS!

Penguin meets Pig!

Molly in 6LM is a big Pete the Penguin fan and frequently asks after him.
This week, Pete made a new friend.
So cute!

Look at this!

I am so proud of my Year Fives! We have been reading 'Boy' by Roald Dahl with particular focus on a character called Mrs Pratchett. As a result, the children have been very busy creating their very own characters.

Aren't they fabulous?
I can't wait to read the actual descriptions.

The Anglo-Saxons come to DMS!

Some of our children really know how to embrace homework tasks!
Our Faculty Lead, Mr Greetham, set all the children in Year Five a creative homework based on the Anglo-Saxons.

The following pictures are a small selection of the impressive work that we have received...

More pictures next week.

Worth a Mention Children

HUGE congratulations to all of the fabulous children who found themselves on this week's Worth a Mention Boards.

Let's start with Year Five this week...

Now for the turn of Year Six.

Well done everyone!

Keep up the good work.

Well, that's it for this week.

I hope that you all have a good week and I will look forward to seeing you all again next time.

Mrs Ray

(who was the proudest Mum in the world when watching her 14 year old daughter dance at her annual ballet show!)
