Half Term, is that you calling?

Hello and welcome back to the Key Stage Two Blog!

Another soggy week under our belts but who cares? Our love of learning hasn't been dampened and I for one have had a terrific week with the three classes that I teach in Key Stage Two. I can't quite believe that we are entering our last week of the first half term - it has whizzed by hasn't it? Year Five have got a very busy week coming up as they have their first Celebration Assembly on Tuesday followed by a Parent Consultation Evening the very next day. More of that later.

I shall cease the Ray Ramblings and crack on with the important things - our children!

Happier Bunnies

I am delighted to report that my bunnies were much happier when I told them that the number of children missing their Golden Time had virtually halved this week - well done! Only a handful of children missed it in Year Six and few in Year Five so fingers (or should that be paws?) everyone is starting to get the hang of it!

Please, please remember that there are various options available to help with Homework in school as mentioned in previous Blogs.

Now, the questions is, will EVERYONE earn their Golden Time this week? I feel more paw crossing coming on!

Sporting Stars

On Thursday, a selection of our Key Stage Two children went to St Osmund's to take part in a DASP Pyramid  Sports Fixture. Our PE Faculty Lead, Mr Roberts, was very proud of all of the children who took part as their positive attitude and sense of determination was second to none.

Well done and a huge 'Thank You' for being such excellent representatives of our school.

Worth a Mention Children

Huge congratulations to this week's WAMs - what an amazing selection this week!

Let's start with Year Six...

Now for the turn of Year Five...

I am so, so impressed - congratulations to you ALL!

Celebration Assembly

Just a last reminder of our Celebration Assembly on Tuesday in the Drama Hall.
Please be in school by 2pm and remember to sign in on your arrival.

We have had a bit of an issue with the stripes and have had to order a new batch that probably won't arrive until after the assembly so the sewing boxes can remain in the 'hold' position for now!

It should be short and sweet - could these be my very famous 'last words'?

Year Five Parent Consultation Evening

Our pastoral orientated Parent Consultation runs this Wednesday from 4pm - 6pm. Please remember that all appointments are five minutes long and that we need to stick to this as our Homebase Tutors have a lot of parents to see.

For the parents of 5EJ children, please be assured that Mrs James will be rescheduling her appointments to an alternative day after half term. A letter will be sent home as soon as that date has been set.

We look forward to seeing you.

Lost Property

The sad, unnamed jumper that I put on the Blog a couple of weeks ago now has quite a big gang of friends! Not one lesson goes by when I am picking up at least two jumpers at the end.

When items of uniform are lost, the cloakroom is a good first place to search.
I cannot emphasis enough the importance of naming ALL items of clothing - they have much more of a fighting chance of getting back to their owners!

Well, that's it for this week. I hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed the glorious sunshine. What a lovely change! Have a good week and I will see you back here for the last Blog of the half term.

Mrs Ray

(who had to endure the torture of taking Roy and Beryl to the Vet for their annual health-check, vaccinations and nail clipping experience. This was a first for us (yes, we have kept them alive for a whole year!) and everyone came out of the ordeal a little shaken, especially the bunnies themselves. They still haven't forgiven us. Sigh...)
